VakıfBank, Turkey's only champion since 2018, faced THY in the 21st week of the Turkish League. The yellow-blacks won the game 3-0 and got the 18th win of the season.
With a strong performance in defense in the first set of the game, VakıfBank got 7 block points and won the set 25-19. The yellow-blacks won the contested second set 25-23 and won the match 3-0 by taking the last set with the same score.
Gabi became the top scorer of the match with 17 points in VakıfBank; Aleksia Karutasu scored 13 points, Zehra Güneş 12 points and Nika Daalderop scored 11 points.
Giovanni Guidetti: “Both teams were tired but we did our part”
After the game VakıfBank Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti said: “We did our job today. After a tough Champions League game we managed to win today. Both teams were a little tired. It was not a very high quality match, but we did our job and won. It was important to stay focused and win”
Expressing his satisfaction with the 11th consecutive semi-final in the CEV Champions League, the Italian coach said, “Milano played great. It was a very difficult match.
