Born in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, on June 10, 2003, Aleksia Karutasu started playing volleyball in the CSM Bucureşti. Her mother and father were professional basketballers. At the age of 13, the young star made her debut in the Romanian National League and became the youngest professional player in Romanian volleyball history. Karutasu, who won the Romanian League and Romanian Cup in 2018, was also selected as the best opposite in the U17 Balkan Championship.
Joining the VakıfBank in 2018, Aleksia was loaned to Yeşilyurt. Karutasu, who played an important role in Yeşilyurt's winning the CEV Challenge Cup also got the MVP award, then she spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray HDI Sigorta. In the 2022-2023 season, the opposite, took part in VakıfBank A Team and won the CEV Champions League and Turkish Cup championships with the yellow-black.
The 1.88 m tall opposite has got Turkish citizenship since 2022.
