VakıfBank has signed Tijana Boskovic, one of the world’s top opposite hitters, for the upcoming season. The experienced player, who has spent many years competing in the Sultanlar Ligi, will wear the yellow-and-black jersey next season.
VakıfBank, Turkey's team with most international titles, has transferred Tijana Boskovic, one of the important players of world volleyball. Boskovic, who has been playing for Eczacıbaşı Dynavit, one of the Sultanlar Ligi teams, since the 2015-2016 season, will wear the yellow-black jersey as of the new season.
The Serbian opposite hitter, born on March 8, 1997, has achieved countless successes throughout her career. She started her volleyball journey in the ZOK Hercegovac club’s infrastructure and then wore the ZOK Partizan Vizura jersey. Boskovic, selected as the most valuable player of the 2016 FIVB Club World Championship, was also the most valuable player of the 2017 CEV European Championship, 2018 FIVB World Championship, 2018 CEV Cup, 2019 Cup Volley, 2019 CEV European Championship, 2019 Champions Cup, 2020 Champions Cup, 2022 World Championship organizations.
Selected as the women's volleyball player of the year in CEV in 2017, 2018 and 2019, the successful player was also selected as the best opposite hitter in the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix, 2016, 2017, 2018 FIVB Club World Championship, 2018-2019 Sultanlar Ligi, 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2021 CEV European Volleyball Championship. Boskovic was also Serbia's female athlete of the year in 2018 and 2019.
She won two Olympic medals
Boskovic, who achieved many successes with the Serbian National Team, won the 2017 CEV European Championship, 2018 FIVB World Championship, 2019 CEV European Championship, 2022 World Championship, 2023 CEV European Championship championships. The Serbian player took the podium twice at the Olympics, winning the silver medal in Rio 2016 and the bronze medal in Tokyo 2020.
Boskovic became Serbian champion in the 2013-2014 season and she won the Serbian Super Cup in 2013 and 2014. Boskovic also won the 2016 FIVB World Clubs, 2018 CEV Cup, 2018 Spor Toto Champions Cup, 2019 Cup Volleyball, 2019 Champions Cup, 2020 Champions Cup and 2022 CEV Cup championships.
