VakıfBank achieves a quick victory in France

Six-time champions VakıfBank secured five wins out of five in the Zeren Group CEV Champions League Group A. The yellow and blacks defeated Volero LE CANNET in France 3-0 in just one hour.  Marina Markova, who scored 19 points, was named MVP of the game.

VakıfBank started the match well with consecutive points in the first set, increasing their lead to 8 points at 13-5. The yellow and blacks won the set 25-15 in 20 minutes, taking the lead with direct scoring contributions from six players. After 1-1 in the second set, VakıfBank found a 4-0 run during Cansu Özbay's service turn and played comfortably for the rest of the set. Helena Cazaute scored 6 points in the set, which the yellow and blacks won 25-17, bringing the score to 2-0. VakıfBank also won the third and final set 25-18, leaving the match with a 3-0 victory. Marina Markova was named the most valuable player of the match with 19 points, 3 aces and 2 blocks.

Strong run in the group stage continues

VakıfBank continues its consistent performance in Europe with the win in France. The yellow and blacks have now won 13 of their last 14 CEV Champions League group stage matches.

VakıfBank won its fifth match in Group A, achieving this success for the second season in a row. The yellow and blacks had won all of their first five matches in Group C last season.
