Born in New Jersey, USA on April 15, 1995, Chiaka Ogbogu started playing volleyball during her middle school years. The experienced middle blocker, who started her professional career in Italy with Il Bisonte, then played for Chemik Police in Poland and Imoco Conegliano in Italy. Ogbogu then stepped into the Sultanlar Ligi and played for Eczacıbaşı for one season before joining VakıfBank. The American player, after winning 1 FIVB Club World Championship, 2 CEV Champions Leagues, 1 Turkish Super Cup, 1 Turkish League and 2 Turkish Cup titles under the yellow and black jersey, spent the 2025 season of LOVB in Austin. Ogbogu, who was chosen as the “Middle Player of the Year” here, signed a short-term contract with Puerto Rico’s Mets de Guaynabo team after Austin and then rejoined VakıfBank. Winning a gold and a silver medal in the Olympics with the USA National Team, Ogbogu also won 3 VNL championships.
