The defending champion VakıfBank hosted Çukurova Belediyesi Adana Demirspor in the 13th week of the Turkish League. The yellow-blacks defeated the Adana side 3-0 and won the last match in 2022.
VakıfBank, the only champion of the Turkish League since 2018, hosted Çukurova Belediyesi Adana Demirspor in the last match in 2022. The yellow-blacks won the 7th consecutive win in the league by beating their opponent 3-0 and ended the year with a win.
In the first set of the game at VakıfBank Spor Sarayı, the yellow-blacks, who played better in the last part, took the lead 1-0 with a score of 25-21. While there was great excitement in the second set, VakıfBank won the set with a score of 25-22. The last league and cup champion, while giving 23 points to the opponent in the last set, managed to win the match 3-0.
In VakıfBank, Paola Egonu was the top scorer of the game with 15 points; also Gabi, Nika Daalderop and Zehra Güneş managed to reach double digits with 14, 12 and 10 points.
VakıfBank will play the first game in 2023 on Friday, January 6th. The game, in which the yellow-blacks will host Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyespor, will begin at 13.00.
