Having spent the last season in Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, VakıfBank player Aleksia Karutasu will be in the squad of the yellow-blacks in the next season.

Having achieved a historical success by winning all the tournaments they participated in the past season VakıfBank, the team that won the most international trophies in Turkey, continues their new season's squad planning. The yellow-blacks announced that 19 year old Opposite Aleksia Karutasu, who spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, will be in the squad of Turkey, Europe and World Champion VakıfBank in the 2022-2023 season.

About Aleksia Karutasu:

Born in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, on June 10, 2003, Aleksia Karutasu started playing volleyball in the CSM Bucureşti. Her mother and father were professional basketballers. At the age of 13, the young star made her debut in the Romanian National League and became the youngest professional player in Romanian volleyball history. Karutasu, who won the Romanian League and Romanian Cup in 2018, was also selected as the best opposite in the U17 Balkan Championship.

Joining the VakıfBank in 2018, Aleksia was loaned to Yeşilyurt. Karutasu, who played an important role in Yeşilyurt's winning the CEV Challenge Cup also got the MVP award, then she spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray HDI Sigorta.

The 188 cm tall opposite has got Turkish citizenship this year and will be able to play in the Turkish National Team in January 2024.
